On October 7, 2010, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash. While traveling west on SH 55 near milepost 12.3, (aka Karcher Rd., between S. Indiana Ave. and S. Montana Ave.) Nikki R. Sutton, 19, of Nampa, ID lost control of her 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The vehicle rolled, coming to rest against a telephone pole. Sutton was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Sutton was wearing a seatbelt. Next of kin notification has been made.

Tpr. J. West is continuing to investigate the crash. Tpr. West was assisted at the crash scene by Idaho State Police Tprs. Hurley, Beckner, and Szeles and Sgt. Dye, as well as Canyon County Sheriff's Office and Caldwell Police Department.
