Fatal Vehicle Fire Reeds Creek Road, Benewah County

Idaho State Police are investigating a vehicle fire that occurred at 1:12 PM on August 24, 2025, on Reeds Creek Rd, in Benewah County, Idaho.

The driver of the vehicle, a 60-year-old male from St Maries, was transported an area hospital via life flight with serious injuries. One juvenile passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another juvenile passenger, with no apparent injuries, was released from the scene to a responsible adult.

The cause of the incident and fire are under investigation.

The roadway was closed to process the scene for approximately four hours, but is now open for normal traffic. Next of kin has been notified.
