Fatality Crash East of Mountain Home

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho – Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a vehicle collision which occurred on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 1:20 A.M., on I84 at mile marker 102 in Elmore County.

A 2017 Dodge RAM 2500 was travelling in the wrong direction, eastbound in the westbound lanes, on I84 at mile marker 102.  A semi-truck and trailer were traveling westbound on I84.  The Ram collided head on with the semi-truck.  Upon impact, both vehicles were engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Dodge, a 35-year-old man from McGregor, TX succumbed to his injures on scene.  The drive of the semi-truck, a 34-year-old man from Riverside, CA was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital.

Both westbound lanes of I84 were blocked for approximately six and a half hours allowing emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.  The left lane remains closed.  Call 511 or check 511.idaho.gov for updates.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
