Fatality Crash in Adams County

On June 9, 2012, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash on Idaho Power Road leading to Hell's Canyon Dam in Adams County, Idaho. Anthony M. Weil, 51 years old, of Lacey, Washington, operating a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling north on the paved road owned by Idaho Power Company leading to Hell's Canyon Dam. John S. McCree, 68 years old, of Port Orchard, Washington, operating a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle, was traveling south on the same road. Both subjects were negotiating a curve at milepost 17 when Weil failed to maintain his designated lane of travel. Weil traveled left of the double yellow center line where he collided with McCree.

Weil was transported via ambulance to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City, Oregon. McCree was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Both subjects were wearing helmets. It does not appear that weather or alcohol was a factor in this crash. This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
