Fatality Crash in Idaho Falls

BONNEVILLE COUNTY, ID. On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 4:05 AM, Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash on Interstate 15 at mile marker 118, in Idaho Falls.

A 2026 Chevy Traverse, driven by a 65-year-old male from Rigby, was reportedly driving the wrong way on the interstate, northbound in the southbound lanes. A 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, driven by a 39-year-old male from Rigby, was driving southbound.

The Chevy Traverse collided head on with the Chrysler minivan. Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the Chrysler minivan succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The southbound lanes were blocked for approximately five hours.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Bonneville County Fire District, Idaho Falls Fire Department, Idaho Falls Police Department, and Idaho Transportation Department.

This crash is under investigating by Idaho State Police.
