On Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 6:29 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a fatal crash in the intersection of 3300 E and 3700 N, in Twin Falls County.

Cyrus V. Sandmeyer, 18, of Twin Falls, was driving a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound on 3300 E when he failed to yield from a stop sign at the intersection of 3300 E and 3700 N.

Michael W. Mumm, 58, of Kimberly, was driving a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on 3700 N and struck the driver's side of Sandmeyer's vehicle. Mumm succumbed to his injuries on scene. Next of kin has been notified.

Sandmeyer was wearing a seatbelt. Mumm was not wearing a helmet. The intersection was blocked for approximately 2.5 hours.

The Idaho State Police were assisted at the scene by Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office and Kimberly Police Department.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
