On Friday July 4, 2014, at approximately 12:35 a.m. , the Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle fatality crash on SH78 at milepost 4.3, near Marsing. Kenneth Slack, 64 of Boise, was traveling in a Ford Expedition eastbound on SH78 and lost control on the roadway. Slack went off the road on the right shoulder and his vehicle overturned. Slack was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Slack was wearing his seatbelt.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
