On November 23, 2017, at approximately 1:10 p.m, the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle fatality crash on Simco Road at milepost 14, west of Mountain Home. A juvenile was driving southbound on Simco Road in a 1998 Toyota Convertible when they drove off the right shoulder, overcorrected and rolled. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise where they succumbed to their injuries.

Two juvenile passengers were transported by personal vehicle from the scene. Simco Road was blocked for approximately 3 hours. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
