On Wednesday, July 19, 2017, Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle fatal crash at the intersection of Sand Hollow Rd. and SE 8th Ave., in Payette County, north of Caldwell. The crash occurred between 4:00 am – 4:30 am this morning.

John Cushman, 22, of New Plymouth, was driving northbound on Sandhollow Rd., in a 1996 Ford F250. Cushman's vehicle ran off the road onto the right shoulder onto gravel and lost control. After losing control, the vehicle came back onto the pavement, and rolled several times. Cushman was partially ejected and was found trapped in the vehicle when emergency responders arrived on scene. Cushman succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Cushman was not wearing his seatbelt.

The next of kin have been notified.
