Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal crash that occurred late in the evening on August 11th, 2022 on westbound US 12 near milepost 119.7 in Idaho County, Idaho.

A 67 year old male from Grangeville was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on US 12. The passenger was a juvenile female. The motorcycle appears to have crossed the centerline, left the roadway on the left shoulder, sideswiped a tree and then struck another tree.

The motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The juvenile passenger was transported to an area hospital by a private vehicle.

The eastbound lane of US 12 was blocked for approximately 3 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
