On Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 7:50 a.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash near Springfield.
Santiago Nava Sanchez, 64, of Aberdeen was driving southbound on State Highway 39 in a 1997 Ford F250 pickup. Donald Raines, 55, of Draper, Utah, was following behind in a 2015 Peterbilt hauling potatoes. Raines attempted to pass Nava Sanchez. While Raines was passing, Nava Sanchez made a left hand turn and was struck by Raines. The pickup left the roadway on the right shoulder and overturned. All occupants were wearing seatbelts; no one was injured. State Highway 39 was blocked for approximately one hour.
This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police is currently investigating a two-vehicle injury crash with complete blockage of the southbound lanes of State Highway 39 at approximately milepost 30 in Bingham County. More information will be released once available.
