*****Update*****
On Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 4:03 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a non- injury commercial vehicle crash on I-86 near the Bannock Peak Truck Stop. Darren J. Giesbrecht, 33 years of age of Pocatello, was driving west on I-86 in a 2004 Kenworth truck hauling farm waste. The truck left the roadway on the right shoulder, and struck the guardrail near milepost 52. The semi overturned, completely blocking both westbound lanes of I-86. Giesbrecht was wearing a seatbelt.
The right lane of westbound I-86 has been cleared for travel since 7 a.m. Traffic is able to move through the area. However, clean up is still ongoing. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
