Both lanes of travel are now open and traffic is flowing smoothly following a crash which occurred shortly after 7:30 PM today, July 19, 2014. Zackary Butler, age 19 of Lake Tapps, WA was travelling west on I84 near Franklin Rd. Butler lost control of his vehicle while attempting to navigate the construction. He struck a commercial vehicle driven by Larry Beckham, age 42, of Florida. Butler's vehicle then struck the guardrail. Both lanes of travel were blocked for approximately twenty minutes until Butler's vehicle could be removed. Beckham's vehicle was removed shortly afterwards. The investigation is ongoing.

One lane of westbound I84 is now open. Traffic is moving slowly through the area. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. More information will be released as it becomes available.

At this time, the Idaho State Police is responding to a property damage crash westbound on I84 west of milepost 36, Franklin Blvd. Westbound traffic is completely blocked. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. More information will be relayed as it becomes available.
