Flag Raising Ceremony to commemorate National Peace Officers Memorial Week
On Monday, May 16th, Southeast Idaho law enforcement will commemorate National Peace Officers Memorial Week by holding a flag raising ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the Idaho State Police Region Five Patrol Office at 5205 S. 5th in Pocatello and will start promptly at 11:00 am. The ceremony will include the presentation of the colors by area law enforcement honor guard members, singing by members of the Century High School Choir directed by Ms. Joyce Brien, overview of the first state officer killed in the line of duty – Constable Fontaine Cooper, playing of Amazing Grace by Bagpiper Rick Batterton, and remarks by Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielsen. The public is welcome to attend.
