The Lawfully Owed DNA program identifies and addresses gaps in DNA collection for convicted offenders who, under Idaho law, should have their profiles in CODIS but were never sampled or tested. The program locates these individuals, collects their DNA, and ensures their profiles are analyzed and uploaded. By filling these gaps, the program helps keep the DNA database accurate, supports investigations, and improves the ability to connect offenders to crimes.
