Fourth annual motorcycle safety rally scheduled for Saturday in Ammon
AMMON, Idaho — Warmer weather means more motorcycles on Idaho roadways. To help riders prepare for a safe season, the Idaho State Police is hosting its annual Shiny Side Up Motorcycle Safety Rally.
“As motorcycle traffic increases during the summer months, the rally is focused on reducing crashes by helping riders improve their skills and awareness,” Corporal Travis Gurney said. “There will be a course set up to sharpen essential riding skills, and safety experts will be on hand to offer tips and guidance.”
The free event will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hillcrest High School in Ammon.
Attendees can participate in hands-on workshops led by experienced instructors, focusing on defensive riding, handling various road conditions, and emergency response techniques. The event will also feature vendor booths, food trucks and prize giveaways.
Participants must bring a DOT-approved helmet, safety gear and protective clothing.
