New Trooper recruits attend the following two training programs:

ATC – Advanced Training Course  – This is an ISP specific training course.  It is a closed campus, 16 week academy in Meridian Idaho. ATC is a comprehensive training program that meets Idaho POST certification training program requirements.

FTO – Field Training Officer (On The Job Training) – This is a three phase training program that takes approximately 12 weeks to complete.

After successful completion of the entrance probation period (one year from the date of hire) full Trooper status is granted.
