On June 5, 2015, at approximately 8:52 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a fatal crash on US 20 at milepost 321, near Rigby.

Abram S. Kissell, 28, of Rexburg, was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry traveling westbound on US 20 at milepost 321, when he drifted towards the center jersey barrier, over corrected and lost control. The vehicle went off the right shoulder of the roadway and collided with the overpass pillar.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The passenger of the vehicle was Sarah Kissell, 19, of Rexburg was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts.

The right lane of travel was blocked for approximately two and a half hours.

The Idaho State Police was assisted by Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
