Idaho State Police Respond to Trespass Incident at Idaho Capitol Building

BOISE, Idaho — An incident at the Idaho Capitol Building this afternoon led to nine arrests at approximately 5:30 p.m. when Idaho State Police (ISP) troopers assigned to Capitol Protective Services responded to a protest inside the Governor’s Office.

The protest was related to House Bill 752, recently signed into law by Governor Little, which establishes restrictions on the use of bathrooms, locker rooms, and changing facilities in certain settings.

During the incident, protesters refused multiple lawful requests to leave the building after business hours. Troopers arrested nine individuals for misdemeanor trespass, and all were booked into the Ada County Jail.

ISP supports the public’s fundamental right to express opinions and engage in lawful protest. However, individuals must also comply with lawful orders and applicable statutes to ensure safety and maintain order.
