Idaho State Police Supports Local Families During the Holiday Season
MERIDIAN, Idaho – This holiday season, the Idaho State Police (ISP) continues its tradition of working with community organizations to bring joy and support to local families. The collaborative efforts exemplify ISP’s dedication to fostering strong, caring communities across Idaho.
This year, ISP’s Financial Services team led a Giving Tree initiative for employees to provide clothing and gifts to two families, ensuring they can celebrate the season with joy and dignity. Partnering with the Boys & Girls Club, ISP team members delivered the donations to the organization to create meaningful connections with the recipients and foster a sense of community.
“Working with the Boys & Girls Club to give back during the holidays has been incredibly rewarding,” said Christine Otto, Financial Services Executive Officer. “This is about more than providing essentials; it’s about showing families that they’re not alone and their community cares deeply for their well-being. The internal support from ISP employees is a testament to how much we care about the communities we serve.”
Adding to the holiday spirit, ISP employees also participated in a food drive during an agency holiday meal generously sponsored by Roosters Eatery & Catering. The collected food and financial donations from Roosters, the Idaho State Police Association (ISPA), and ISP employees will benefit the Meridian Food Bank by helping support numerous families facing food insecurity during this critical time of year. These contributions underscore the significant impact that joint efforts can make in communities.
“Our holiday initiatives reflect ISP’s commitment to serving beyond the badge,” said Colonel Bill Gardiner, Director of ISP. “Whether working with the Boys & Girls Club to support families, collaborating with generous local businesses like Roosters, or rallying our employees to contribute to food drives, these efforts build stronger, more connected communities. These aren’t our only efforts. We know the 10 Counties of Christmas in Eastern Idaho was very successful as districts throughout the state continued serving their communities. Together, we’re not just addressing needs—we’re creating moments of joy and connection embodying this great season’s spirit.”
ISP encourages the public to find ways to give back during the holidays and tough winter months. Partnering with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club or food banks is a meaningful way to make a difference in local communities.
