Idaho State Police Urge Safe and Responsible New Year’s Eve Celebrations

MERIDIAN, Idaho – As we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome the New Year, the Idaho State Police (ISP) reminds everyone to prioritize safety and responsibility. Impaired driving is a significant risk during the holiday season, and we are committed to ensuring Idaho’s roads are safe for all.

During the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations, troopers will look to prevent impaired driving and enforce the law. We urge anyone celebrating to plan ahead and designate a sober driver, use rideshare services, or make other arrangements to get home safely. Remember, driving under the influence not only endangers your life but also poses a serious threat to others. Let’s all play our part in ensuring a safe start to 2025.

“As law enforcement and professional staff, we are not just enforcers of the law; we are dedicated to the safety and well-being of our communities. We are your neighbors, friends, and family members. Your safety is at the core of everything we do,” said Lieutenant Colonel Fritz Zweigart, Chief of Operations. “Thank you for your continued support and for partnering with us to make Idaho a safe place to live, work, and celebrate.”

Reflecting on the year, ISP thanks the people of Idaho for their continued support. Our employees actively engaged with communities throughout the state. From school safety presentations to community outreach programs, our team’s dedication went beyond enforcing the law—we strive to build trust and strengthen relationships. The partnerships we’ve engaged in led to collaboration with other law enforcement agencies and civic groups. Your trust and participation have been instrumental in helping fulfill our mission to protect and serve.

As we enter 2025, ISP remains dedicated to creating safer roads and stronger communities. Call *ISP (*477) or 911 if you witness dangerous driving or someone needing assistance. Your vigilance and prompt action can make a significant difference.
