On January 2, 2020, at approximately 10:51 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a crash at Deer Flat Rd. and Southside Blvd. in Canyon County, south of Nampa.
Bruce Harris, 67, of Melba, was driving a 1997 International motorhome eastbound on Deer Flat Rd. when he stopped at the stop sign at Southside Blvd. Zachariah Bennett, 45, of Meridian, was driving a 2004 Ford pickup pulling a utility trailer northbound on Southside Blvd. Rylee Knight, 22, of Melba, was stopped at the stop sign on westbound Deer Flat Rd. at Southside Blvd. in a 1995 Ford Taurus. The motorhome proceeded into the intersection and was struck by the Ford pickup. The Ford pickup then struck the stationary Taurus. Harris was ejected from the motorhome.
Harris was transported via air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Knight was wearing a seatbelt, Harris and Bennett were not.
The road was blocked for approximately three hours.
