On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 9:05 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash EB I84 at milepost 38, near Nampa. Tyler Babcock, 31, of Boise, was driving a 2012 Nissan Altima. Babcock lost control and sideswiped a 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by Callentana Fuentes, 35, of Caldwell. Babcock and Fuentes went through the gore and across all lanes on the eastbound 38 on ramp, coming to rest against the cement barrier.
Both drivers were transported to St. Alphonsus in Nampa. Fuentes was wearing a seatbelt. Babcock was not. The on ramp was blocked for 1.5 hours for the investigation.
