On August 18, 2018 at approximately 7:29 p.m., a fatal crash occurred near the 2400 block of Barnhart road, in Careywood, Idaho. A 1998 Kawasaki KX80 motorcycle driven by Kenneth L. Wood, 50, of Bayview, Idaho was traveling eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve causing him to leave the roadway and strike a rock. Wood was brought to the Careywood Fire Station where he succumbed to his injuries. Wood was not wearing a safety helmet. Next of kin has been notified.
