Injury Crash in Paul Sends Five to Local Hospitals

PAUL, ID – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred at 1:12 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the intersection of 1150 W and 300 N in Minidoka County.

A 38-year-old male from Rupert, was traveling eastbound on 300 N in a 2002 Honda CR-V, when he failed to obey a stop sign. A 2025 Jeep Compass driven by a 23-year-old-female from Paul, ID, was traveling northbound on 1150 and collided with the Honda CR-V.

The vehicles collided at an angle, and the Jeep Compass came to rest on its passenger side where it caught fire. The flames then spread to the Honda CR-V and the surrounding grass area. All occupants were able to get out of the vehicles.

The occupant of the Honda CR-V was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Jeep Compass was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital, and two juvenile passengers were taken by air ambulance to surrounding hospitals. An additional juvenile passenger of the Jeep was also transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

The driver and juvenile occupants of the Jeep were all wearing seat-belts and using proper restraints at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Honda was wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash.

Idaho State Police was assisted by West End Fire and QRU, Minidoka Memorial ER 1 and ER 2, LifeFlight, Classic Air Ambulance, and Air St Lukes. Idaho State Police was also assisted by Minidoka Sheriff’s Office.

The incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
