On Sunday, October 3, 2010, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle crash. Rayce Ranstrom, 24, of Pingree, ID, was driving a 1989 GMC Jimmy northbound on US 91 at milepost 89.5, just north of Fort Hall. He impacted a cow in open range causing Madzina Williams, 79, of Fort Hall, ID driving a 2006 Ford Focus and Lesli Benitez-Trejo, 22, of Blackfoot, ID driving a 2001 Hyundai XG300 to impact the cow as well.
Williams was transported by Life Flight to Portneuf Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Airbags were deployed in Williams and Benitez-Trejo�s vehicles. Williams was not wearing a seatbelt. US91 was closed in both directions for approximately an hour and a half while LifeFlight landed. Trooper Orr was assisted was on scene by Sergeant Manining and Fort Hall Police officers.
Alcohol and speed are not a factor in this crash.
