On Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at 6:28 a.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury crash on U.S. Highway 26 at milepost 389, near Irwin.
Louie Armstrong, 19 of Rigby, was driving eastbound on U.S. Highway 26 in a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica Van when he fell asleep. The vehicle struck the side of a rock cliff at milepost 389. Airbags were deployed and Armstrong was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Armstrong was wearing his seatbelt.
This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
