Injury Crash near New Plymouth Sends Three to the Hospital
PAYETTE, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 05:15 a.m., on January 26th, 2025, on Interstate 84 south of New Plymouth. An 18-year-old female from Rexburg, and her passenger, were driving westbound on interstate 84 at milepost 13 in a 2020 Kia Soul. A 52-year-old female, from Middleton was driving westbound on interstate 84 at milepost 13 in a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Kia struck the median barrier and came back into the lanes of travel where it was struck by the Jeep. Both vehicles came to rest on their tops in the lane of travel.
All occupants were wearing seat belts.
The occupants of the Kia were transported via air ambulance to the local hospital. The driver of the Jeep was transported via ground ambulance to the local hospital.
Both lanes of travel were blocked for approximately 5 and a half hours.
This crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
