On August 9 2012, at approximately 8:00 am, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash on US91 at milepost 40, near Downey. Michelle Priestley, 37, of Weston ID, was traveling southbound on US91 in a red Chevy Acadia, when she fell asleep and rear-ended a green Ford Pickup being driven by Randal Morris, 57, of Arimo ID. Priestley was transported to Franklin County Medical Center. The Idaho State Police was assisted at the scene by Bannock County Search and Rescue, Downey Medical Personnel and the Transportation Department. The investigation is ongoing.
