On August 25th, 2020 at approximately 08:30 am the Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash eastbound on US12 at Gifford Reubens Road. Colton Vaughn, 30 years old of Weippe, ID, was travelling eastbound on US12 in an unloaded 1996 Kenworth logging truck when Steven Luoma, 65 years old of Culdesac, ID, failed to yield when turning westbound on to US12 from Gifford Reubens Road. Luoma was in a 2002 Freightliner semi hauling two grain trailers. The roadway was temporarily closed while the crash was being investigated, then opened up to one lane for approximately 5 hours. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The investigation is ongoing.
