On June 10, 2021, approximately 8:29 pm, Idaho State Police responded to an injury crash, which occurred during a Nez Perce Tribal Police vehicle pursuit, southbound on US 95 near milepost 300, in Lapwai, Idaho. The driver of the pursued vehicle, Derrick Celestine, 39, of Utah, was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho for his injuries. Celestine was treated and released, and was subsequently arrested, by the Idaho State Police, for Second Offense Driving Under the Influence (DUI). The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information is available for release at this time.
