On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at approximately 7:30 am, Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of Yellowstone Highway and 4300 East north of Rigby.

Israel Trejo Torres, 57, of Rexburg was northbound on Yellowstone Highway in a 2004 GMC pickup.

Jace Weekes, 20, of Rigby was westbound on 4300 E in a 2006 Chevy Silverado pickup. Torres failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and collided with Weekes. The collision forced Weekes Chevy into the canal on the north side of the highway.

Torres was wearing his seat belt; Weekes was not. Torres was transported by private vehicle to Madison Memorial in Rexburg.
