Interstate-84 Blocked After Two-Vehicle Collision in Canyon County
NAMPA, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision which occurred on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 8:02 p.m., on westbound Interstate 84 at milepost 33, in Nampa.
A 2023 International semi-truck pulling a 2019 Great Dane trailer, driven by a 45-year-old man from Olympia, Washington, was traveling westbound on I-84. A 2003 Oldsmobile Alero, driven by a 32-year-old woman from Caldwell, was also traveling westbound. The semi was attempting to change lanes when it sideswiped the Oldsmobile. The Oldsmobile then collided with the semi truck’s fuel tank.
The semi’s fuel tank was damaged and leaked fuel across the interstate. The roadway was blocked while emergency responders contained the spill. The roadway is still blocked to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
