ISAC Wins National Award for Sexual Violence Research Brief

The Idaho Statistical Analysis Center (ISAC) has been awarded the 2025 Douglas Yearwood National Publication Award from the Justice Information Resource Network (JIRN) for Best Statistical/Management Report by a Small SAC for its November 2024 research brief, Sexual Violence in Idaho: Prevalence and Health Impacts. Thomas Strauss, ISAC Director and Principal Research Analyst, will accept the award during JIRN’s annual conference in September, and will give a presentation on the report to a national audience during a JIRN webinar highlighting the 2025 award winners on September 23rd.

The 2025 award is the fourth Yearwood Award ISAC has received since 2020 and seventh since JIRN created the award in 1986, continuing ISAC’s long history of earning recognition as a national leader in communicating criminal justice research to decision makers, practitioners, and the public.

JIRN awards six Yearwood Awards annually in recognition of outstanding communication of research by Statistical Analysis Centers (SACs). The awards are broken into two divisions based on SAC staff size (small SACs have 1-4 employees; large SACs have 5 or more employees), and three awards are made in each division (one each for statistical/management reports, policy/research reports, and data dashboards).
