ITD, ISP troopers partnered to Reduce Impaired Drivers
June 30 through July 11, 2011
The Idaho Transportation Department partnered with the Idaho State Police and other law enforcement agencies across Idaho, to make highways safer by aggressively stepping up Impaired Driver patrols from June 30 through July 11, 2011.
During this campaign, Region 4 Idaho State Police troopers focused on making highways safer and reducing impaired driver crashes, by removing impaired drivers from highways. Results summary:
Total Contacts – 924
DUI Arrests – 9
Seat Belt / Child Restraint Citations – 42
Felony Arrests – 1
Suspended Driver Licenses – 8
Uninsured Motorists – 49
Speeding Citations – 402
Other Hazardous Moving Citations – 22
Drug Arrests – 3
Other Various Contacts – 60
Idaho State Police Region 4 Sergeant Oliver said, "Your best and only way to ensure surviving a crash is to always wear a seat belt and remain attentive to your surroundings and other drivers. Always have a designated driver when out with friends."
