On Saturday, November 3, 2012 at approximately 10:54 pm, the Idaho State Police responded to a call of a semi that left the south bound lanes of I15 near mile post 81 and came to a stop in the median. The driver was reported to be unconscious and emergency responders were dispatched. Both south bound lanes of I15 at that location were closed in preparation for life flight. The right lane was later reopened as life flight was cancelled due to the driver succumbing to his medical condition. The left lane remained closed until the semi was removed. The driver was transported to Portnuef Medical Center and was pronounced deceased upon arrival. All lanes are now open.
The driver's name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
