On July 27, 2013, at approximately 11:34 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a fatal motorcycle crash on US Highway 20 near milepost 194, 2 miles west of Carey. The motorcycle rider was eastbound on a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle attempting to navigate a curve. They drove off the roadway into loose sand, and lost control of the motorcycle.

The driver was wearing a helmet, but succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Their name will be released once notifications have been made to the family. The crash is still under investigation.
