On Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 1:33 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury crash on Old Oregon Trail road at US-30, west of Lava Hot Springs.
Ernest Long, 34, of Preston, was driving a 2005 Harley Davidson Roadking motorcycle eastbound on Old Oregon Trail road. Long failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the left shoulder and overturned. Long was not wearing a helmet and was transported via air ambulance to Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello.
US-30 was blocked for approximately thirty minutes to allow for the air ambulance to land.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
