On Wednesday, April 2, at 11:28 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 20/26 near McDermott Road in Meridian. Dave Briggs, 36, of Meridian, was traveling east on a 2004 Buell Motorcycle driving 66 mph in a 45 mph speed limit zone. A trooper on patrol in the area witnessed Briggs as he lost control of the motorcycle, struck a jersey barrier, and was ejected.
Briggs was transported by ground ambulance to St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Boise. The eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 20/26 was blocked for approximately 45 minutes. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
