Multiple Crashes on Interstate 15 at Milepost 85 in Bingham County

BINGHAM COUNTY, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating multiple crashes that occurred at approximately 3:16 pm, on July 12, 2024, on northbound Interstate 15 at milepost 85 in Bingham County.

A 37-year-old male, from Blackfoot was driving northbound on I15 in a green 2017 Peterbilt semi-truck. The Peterbilt failed to yield to slowing traffic in the area and collided with the following vehicles: a 2024 BMW X3, driven by a 73-year-old male, from Pocatello, a silver 2023 Toyota RAV4, driven by a 50-year-old female from North Ogden, Utah.

The silver Toyota RAV4 was pushed into a blue 2024 Ford F250, driven by a 59-year-old male from Rigby, Idaho. The blue 2024 Ford F250 then collided with a Maroon 2022 Jeep Compass, driven by a 39-year-old female from Aberdeen, Idaho.

A black 2012 Audi A4, driven by a juvenile, collided with a green 2019 Toyota RAV4, driven by a 32-year-old male, from Vineyard, Utah.

All occupants were wearing a seatbelt. The passenger of the BMW, a 70- year-old female, from Pocatello, Idaho was transported by ground ambulance to a local area hospital. The driver of the silver Toyota RAV4 was also transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

Northbound I15 was blocked for approximately three hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.  I15 is no longer blocked.
