Name of Suspect in Officer Involved Shooting in Coeur d’Alene is Released

COEUR D’ALENE
– Investigators with the Idaho State Police have released the name of the
suspect in the shooting that involved Coeur d’Alene Police Department officers
on the morning of Sunday, August 25
th.  The suspect’s name is
Eric B. Johnston, 35, from Dalton Gardens.  Johnston’s family has been
notified.

An autopsy
will be performed today.  The results of that autopsy are not expected to
be available for several weeks.

The Idaho
State Police, as part of the District One Critical Incident Task Force, will
continue to be the lead in the investigation.  No further information on
this investigation is expected to be released today.
