On Saturday, April 29, 2017, at approximately 1:07 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigate a two-vehicle, non-injury crash, eastbound on I-84 at milepost 46, east of the Eagle overpass.
Terry Clampitt, 49, of Boise, was driving eastbound in a 1998 Ford pickup towing a Wanco trailer. Clampitt stopped to avoid a bumper in the lane of travel. Matthew Kelley, 33, of Greensboro, South Carolina, was also eastbound, driving a 2014 Honda Odyssey van. The van struck the rear of the trailer and the trailer came unhitched from the pickup.
Clampitt and Kelley were wearing seatbelts and were not transported. One lane was partly blocked for approximately twenty minutes until crews were able to move the trailer.
The crash is still under investigation.
