On March 1st, 2017 at approximately 3:20 PM a non-injury crash occurred at the intersection of Edgemere Cutoff Rd and Vay Rd, approximately 8-miles west of Careywood, ID. A 2005 Kenworth semi-truck pulling a flatbed trailer, driven by Gerrit L. Ten Kley (63 years of Elk, WA), failed to stop for a railroad crossing stop sign and the trailer was struck by a southbound train. Ten Kley was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt. The intersection was blocked for approximately 2-hours.
