On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at approximately 4:12 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle injury crash on Interstate 15 at milepost 26, near the Malad Summit. Gordon Carson, 77, of Alberta, Canada, was northbound on I-15 at milepost 26 in a 2010 GMC Acadia. Carson lost control of the vehicle and went off the road into the median, where the vehicle came to rest on its side. Both Carson and his passenger, Maureen Carson, 72, of Alberta, Canada, were transported to the Portneuf Medical Center by ground ambulance as a precautionary measure. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
