On Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 7:01 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle fatality crash on Interstate 15 at milepost 63 near Fort Hall. Jared T. Rasmussen, 39 years old, of Grace, was travelling northbound on Interstate 15 when he lost control of his vehicle. Rasmussen's vehicle slid into the median and rolled, coming to rest on top of the guardrail. Rasmussen was not wearing a seat belt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The road was covered in snow and ice. Idaho State Police were assisted by Pocatello EMS and Bannock County Search and Rescue. This crash is still under investigation by Corporal Mark Donahue and Sargeant Gary Brush of the Idaho State Police.
