On December 3, 2013 at 3:15 p.m, Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle, semi-truck crash on the southbound Interstate 15 off-ramp to the Sage Junction Port of Entry.
Chester Banack, 57 of Vegreville, Alberta, was driving a 2012 Mack truck pulling a trailer hauling plastic buckets. As Banack took the off-ramp to enter the Port of Entry, he was traveling too fast for the conditions. His tractor-trailer left the roadway off of the left shoulder and overturned. Banack was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Banack was cited for Speed too Fast for Conditions.
Idaho State Police were assisted at the scene by the Port of Entry and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
