On Sunday, June 16, 2013, at approximately 11:17 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle, serious injury crash on South Frontage Road, just east of Golf Course Road, near Jerome. Fred Heffron, 68, of Portland, Oregon was travelling eastbound on Interstate 84 in a 2004 Mazda MZ3, when he went drifted left, overcorrected going off of the roadway, flipping the vehicle. The vehicle crossed South Frontage Road and crashed into equipment at a business. The crash is still under investigation.
