On December 31, 2011, at 2:53 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle rollover crash on US Highway 26 near milepost 360, approximately three miles east of the Clark Hill Rest Area.
David Cox, 30, of Smoot, Wyoming, was traveling west in a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. Cox was driving too fast for the road and weather conditions. Cox lost control of his vehicle, driving off the highway onto the right shoulder where the vehicle rolled. The passenger, Benjamin Schlager, 28, of Smoot, Wyoming was ejected from the vehicle. Schlager was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Cox was not transported.
The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police Trooper Oswald who was assisted at the scene by Corporal Barnes, Corporal Bivins and Bonneville County Sheriff's deputies.
