Single Vehicle Crash In Payette County
PAYETTE COUNTY, Idaho – The Idaho State Police is currently investigating a single-vehicle injury crash that occurred April 1st, 2026, around 4:28 P.M., westbound State Highway 52 near milepost 4 in Payette County, Idaho.
A white 1989 Chevrolet GMT-400 Pickup, driven by a 23-year-old male from New Plymouth, Idaho, was westbound on State Highway 52 near milepost 4 when the driver failed to maintain his lane of travel. The driver drove across the center line and off the roadway on the south side of the highway. The driver over-corrected, drove across both lanes of travel, and off the roadway on the north side of the highway where the vehicle overturned.
The passenger, a 20-year-old female, also from New Plymouth, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Both the driver and passenger were transported by air ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Seat belts were not in use at the time of the crash.
State Highway 52 was closed for approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes. The Idaho State Police was assisted by the Payette County Sheriff’s Office, Payette County Fire & EMS, and the Idaho Transportation Department.
This crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
