Suspects Taken Into Custody Following High-Speed Pursuit on I-84

ADA COUNTY, Idaho – On December 2, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., an Idaho State Police (ISP) trooper attempted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle traveling westbound on I-84 in Ada County. The car, a 2011 Honda Pilot, failed to stop, leading to a pursuit. The Honda was driven recklessly as it evaded law enforcement and reached speeds of about 115 mph.

Troopers determined that at least two occupants were in the vehicle during the pursuit. As the car approached mile marker 26, it slowed significantly and almost stopped so a male passenger could exit before the Honda sped off. The passenger was uninjured and immediately surrendered to a trooper without incident.

The Honda continued westbound on I-84. As the pursuit neared exit 25, Middleton Police officers deployed a “stop stick” device, successfully deflating the vehicle’s tires. Shortly afterward, the Honda came to a stop, and the driver was taken into custody for felony eluding without further incident or injury.

Troopers later discovered the driver, a 39-year-old female from Salmon, ID, had an active warrant and possessed a controlled substance. The passenger, a 37-year-old from Kuna, ID, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. The female and male were both transported to the Canyon County Jail.

No officers or civilians were injured during the incident.

ISP thanks the Middleton Police Department for their assistance in resolving the pursuit and helping arrest the driver.
